MATCH list merchant account

Query focus: MATCH list merchant account · facts only, no instant-removal claims

MATCH (Mastercard Alert To Control High-risk Merchants) is an acquirer-only database. It is not a public lookup tool. Sales calls cannot “check MATCH” without an acquiring relationship that can query it.

RetryHub helps with merchant-account placement and underwriting prep; PayFresco is a separate payments + CRM / orchestration product.

Facts operators should keep straight

FTC Humboldt Merchant Services context (2026)

In September 2026 the FTC announced action against payment processor Humboldt Merchant Services for knowingly facilitating payment processing for sham / high-fraud merchants. Under the proposed order, Humboldt would be banned from processing for certain categories, including merchants on the MATCH list for reasons such as excessive chargebacks, laundering, and fraud — among other restrictions.

Takeaway for applicants: processors that ignore MATCH and fraud red flags face enforcement risk. Honest disclosure and clean files matter more than “workarounds.”
